Who is Chuck Evans?

Chuck Evans was a man of many interests and talents. He began his foray into the entertainment industry by producing an award winning children’s play. “Ichabod! The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” was a light-hearted musical adaptation of Washington Irving’s timeless classic. “Ichabod!” Opened to sell-out audiences in Denver, Colorado in 1995 and was awarded the Best New Play of the Year by the Denver Center Theater Company.

From theater, Chuck moved into television. His first show, “Haunted” starring Matthew Fox, aired on UPN and ran for one season. His next venture took him into his favorite genre, the Classic Western. “Peacemakers” starring Tom Berenger, aired on the USA Network and also ran for one year. Chuck was a constant source of inspiration and humor on the set. The actors and crew always loved him. Next, Chuck threw himself into bringing “Ichabod!” to the screen. He produced the one hour film for PBS … With Chuck’s vision and dedication, the award winning play became an award winning family film.

Although he did not always take a producer credit on the projects he was involved with, Chuck played a role in helping to develop dozens of scripts – many of which became feature films. Including, “The Proposition” starring Kenneth Branagh, Madeline Stowe, and William Hurt. “Stigmata” starring Patricia Arquette, Gabriel Byrne and Jonathan Pryce. And most recently, “Heaven Sent” starring Christian Kane and Mallory James Mahoney.

His creativity, kindness and dedication to the many people and projects he developed for the stage and screen will be dearly missed.
